Yellow Nutsedge
Cyperus esculentus
One of the more cold tolerant sedge species, yellow nutsedge propagates from brown to tan colored tubers at the end of rhizomes. Unlike purple nutsedge (Cyperus rotundus), chains of tubers are not formed. Yellow nutsedge has lighter colored leaves than purple nutsedge and produces a distinctly different seedhead.
