Purple Deadnettle

Lamium purpureum

Purple deadnettle is a winter annual weed similar in appearance to Henbit (Lamium amplexicaule), except that it's leave are attached to petioles, where the leaves of Henbit are not. Leaves of purple deadnettle also often have a purplish tinge. Purple deadnettle flowers in early spring.
